Anticommunists' bomb takes big toll in Angola

Anticommunist rebels in Angola detonated a bomb that killed at least 30 people and injured 70, the Yugoslav news agency Tanjug reported from Angola's capital, Luanda.

But, in Paris, a representative of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), which claimed responsibility for the attack, said 200 people were killed in the blast, including three Soviet lieutenant colonels and 37 Cuban senior officers.

The bomb attack in Huambo, Angola, occurred Sunday during a ''cleaning-up operation'' by the Angolan Army against UNITA rebels in Huambo Province, Tanjug said.
