Thatcher affirms criticism of US on harbor mining

British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher condemned the mining of Nicaraguan ports by US-backed rightist guerrillas as a threat to international navigation. She told Parliament Tuesday, ''We have previously made it very clear to the United States government that we are against mining the ports of Nicaragua, because it is very dangerous to international traffic on the high seas.''

Mrs. Thatcher's statement, in answer to a parliamentary question, confirmed reports of British government unease about Washington's support for rebels fighting the Sandinist government in Nicaragua.
