Conservative action group sets up anti-Mondale drive

Republicans grabbed the spotlight from the Iowa caucuses as the head of a controversial New Right committee launched a $2 million campaign Wednesday against Democratic front-runner Walter Mondale.

Terry Dolan, chairman of the National Conservative Political Action Committee , said the campaign will begin in New Hampshire, which holds the nation's first primary Feb. 28.

Mr. Dolan's committee gained notoriety by running negative ads that helped defeat six liberal Democratic senators in the 1980 elections - including George McGovern, another Democratic presidential contender.
