Space flight

January 24, 1984

Resplendent on the launch a specter poised to crack the jeweled lid. Inside the shell, gleaming men of vision count and watch. Shrugging aside the tug of earth to fathom a trackless void. Fantastic baby, how alien you are! Swaddled in steel, you've never walked or smiled and now you stalk the planets. Dark rushes in on those cruel miles. Come back to your mother at dawn through rivers of glittering daylight.
