New talks just possible on long-range missiles

Secretary of State George Shultz said there was no movement toward resumption of East-West nuclear arms talks at his five-hour meeting with Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko Wednesday.

West German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher said Thursday that Mr. Gromyko told him talks on medium-range missiles had been ''blasted away.'' But Mr. Genscher said Moscow appeared still to be considering whether to return to separate talks with the US on long-range missiles.
