Approval for Getty Oil merger expected today
The proposed merger of Texaco and Getty Oil Company, which would be the largest in US history, was delayed until today, pending approval from attorneys for Claire Getty, a niece of trustee Gordon Getty and granddaughter of the late J. Paul Getty. The firms agreed in principle Friday to close the $9.8 billion deal.
