Boston hotel fire causes $1 million-a-day losses

The posh Westin Hotel, closed since a New Year's Day explosion and fire that forced more than 100 guests into the street, may be closed for a week and is losing $1 million a day, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.

The blaze at the 37-story, 800-room hotel caused more than $500,000 in damage. The hotel is entirely insured against the fire damage and the loss in revenue, she said.
