Bonn panel moves to bring charges in corruption case

A West German parliamentary committee recommended on Thursday lifting Economics Minister Otto Lambsdorff's political immunity to clear the way for formal corruption charges to be filed against him.

Bonn Public Prosecutor Johannes Wilhelm said his office would ''move as soon as possible to file the charges'' once the Bundestag had approved the recommendation. The vote, seen by analysts as a formality, is expected today.
