An estimated 600,000 join Dutch, Danish N-protests

An estimated 500,000 demonstrators marched peacefully through The Hague Saturday to protest NATO's planned deployment of new medium-range nuclear missiles in the Netherlands and elsewhere in Western Europe. The Dutch government is due to make a final decision by June on whether to accept 48 cruise missiles under the NATO plan.

In Denmark, an estimated 100,000 people took part in demonstrations throughout the country to protest the NATO plans. The largest rally was in Copenhagen, where police said 65,000 protesters gathered.
