Bonn accepts US norm on lead-free gasoline

The West German Cabinet decided Wednesday to adopt US emission standards in tests on lead-free gasoline and introduce it in 1986. Asked about the repercussions on European neighbors, a government spokesman said he hoped the European Community could adopt a common policy. He said West Germany is aware of the possibility of disagreement with other countries, but asserts that protection of the environment had first priority.
