Tennessee minister loses medical-treatment appeal

The Tennessee Supreme Court refused Thursday to hear an appeal from a fundamentalist minister seeking to halt cancer treatments for his 12-year-old daughter. The high court's decision lets stand a lower-court ruling that placed Pamela Hamilton in custody of the state for emergency medical treatment that her father objects to on religious grounds.
