A $20,000 grand piano, an antique grandfather clock, and diamond jewelry are among items the Justice Department is selling at a special sale this week. The goods represent the ill-gotten gains of government employees. Most of the items were recovered from Michael Rupenthal, a former employee of the Federal Election Commission, who was convicted last year of embezzling more than $556,000 from the government. Other bargains: TV sets, golf clubs, a microwave oven, cassette tapes, a log splitter, and a Cartier watch with 28 diamonds.
