Salvador peace panel to meet guerrillas

The Salvadorean peace commission leader has gone to Colombia for what is expected to be the first round of talks between El Salvador's government and leftist guerrillas. Francisco Quinonez head the government commission charged with bringing the rebels into the electoral process.

Meanwhile, US envoy Richard Stone was to have met with the government-backed Peace Commission, reportedly to arrange the final details of the meetings between the panel and leftist guerrilla leaders.
