Salvadorean land reform in jeopardy, study says

A US-funded study on El Salvador's land-reform program contradicts Washington's claims that the Salvadorean government has curbed evictions from redistributed land.

The report by the US Agency for International Development said between 4,700 and 8,000 peasant farmers had been evicted from land they acquired under the land program. Last week the Reagan administration told Congress 995 farmers had been evicted.
