Dispute with shipyard threatens Walesa's job

Solidarity leader Lech Walesa shrugged off back-to-work orders from the Lenin Shipyard and said his bosses were trying to provoke an incident so they could fire him. Mr. Walesa is vacationing in Sokolow Podlaski.

In Gdansk, Walesa's employers delayed any decision on what disciplinary action to bring against him for allegedly disregarding orders to put off his vacation until August. Shipyard sources said legal documents ordering Walesa's dismissal were being prepared.
