IN SHORT

June 14, 1983

There will probably be many more upsets in the Democratic presidential race before the party convention. But for the moment Alan Cranston has put a blip on the screen by beating out Walter Mondale in a straw vote of 2,000 voters in Wisconsin, a state where Mr. Mondale could have been expected to win. Mr. Mondale has a slight bout of gloom, of course. And that, needless to say, makes John Glenn happiest of all.
