Police arrested 102 antinuclear demonstrators as hundreds formed a human blockade. Thursday was the third day of a sit-in to disrupt operations at a US Air Force fighter-bomber base. US planes, including F-111s used to carry nuclear bombs, took off normally from the Oxfordshire base, 80 miles northwest of London.
