US missiles to be ready for deployment in Europe

Caspar Weinberger said that the production of new medium-range nuclear missiles was on target and that deployment in Europe could begin on schedule at the end of the year.

After meeting with West German Defense Minister Manfred Worner, the American defense secretary told a press conference that Moscow's attitude at Soviet-US arms control talks would determine whether stationing of the missiles would took place and on what scale.
