Police smash Corsican guerrilla ring in Paris

French police have smashed a Corsican National Liberation Front (FNLC) ring in Paris, police said. Two of the eight men detained after a wave of bombings here April 29 admitted taking part in the attacks on four railroad stations and an Air France terminal, police added.

Police were tipped off by a man who said he had visited an apartment in Paris where FLNC members were making bombs. There police found bomb-making equipment and $100,000 of counterfeit American money.

Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence, and Alfortville were also hit by bombs as the Corsican separatist guerrillas broke a two-year truce with the government in mainland France. There were no casualties.
