EPA official resigns; role of Dow Chemical cited

The top international official at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has resigned over allegations he helped the Dow Chemical Company influence the US position on an international chemical testing agreement.
Richard Funkhouser, the 14th appointee to leave the EPA in recent months, submitted his resignation last week, agency officials said.
A House Science and Technology subcommittee is investigating the role of Funkhouser and a Dow official in affecting the US position at an environmental conference in Paris last November.
