The mind has need

April 22, 1983

I would remember such as caught my heart And burned the breath of reason nearly out, With a violence of glory that would start An angel such as only fools could doubt Or fail to entertain. Such are the birth Of April-prismed woods in crystal air, Candescent dawns igniting sky and earth, The touch of love, a glimpse of God in prayer, Forgiveness undeserved and unexpected Like rainbows giving pardon after storms, All evidence of hope I found reflected However fleeting in whatever forms. These myriad resurrections from the grave Are testaments the mind has need to save.
