Canada budget expected to boost economy

The troubled Canadian economy could get a $4 billion boost from Canada's new budget, financial analysts said. Job creation programs and sales tax cuts were expected to be the major elements in the big boost, they said. Finance Minister Marc Lalonde will present his budget Tuesday. Unlike other leading Western countries, Canada has not yet wrestled inflation right down - it now stands at 7 percent - and one in eight Canadians is still out of work, the highest figure since the Great Depression.
