Venezuela raises sone oil-product prices

April 11, 1983

Venezuela, encouraged by an apparent stabilization in the oil market, raised some oil-product prices by between 30 cents and $3.50 per barrel, an official said.

Energy and Mines Minister Humberto Calderon Berti said the sustained process of stabilization was a clear result of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries agreement last month on prices and production. Mr. Calderon also said he expects to attend a meeting of the OPEC market monitoring committee in London on Thursday to review the consequences of last month's agreement.
