21% of US firms may add workers in next 3 months

March 23, 1983

A Manpower Inc. survey indicates 21 percent of US businesses plan to increase their work forces during the next three months. Mitchell Fromstein, president of the Milwaukee-based supplier of temporary workers, said the firm's quarterly survey showed the biggest improvement in jobs since 1981. He attributed the improvement to cautious expectations that the economy will improve and bring better conditions.
