Australia probably can handle by itself the massive relief and reconstruction work required in the aftermath of the brush fires which have devastated a massive swath through South Australia and Victoria. But Australians should know they have the sympathy of their friends overseas and can count on help, if they need it, to restore the area after a blaze that has taken many lives and destroyed more than 2,000 homes.
