Scratches in glass are there to stay

December 31, 1982

Q. We have a sliding door, the glass of which has been scratched by a dog. Is there any way that such scratches can be removed without glass replacement? Mrs. Wilma Sauth Mortensdale, Mont.

A. To our knowledge and that of a veteran glazer, scratches in glass may not be removed practically. If the scratch bugs you enough, reckon you'll need to replace the glass and hope that Bowser will not repeat the infraction.

If anyone knows of a practical way to remove scratches in glass, do let us know.
