December 30, 1982

Chrysler Corporation expects to hire about 1,500 workers to build a new sports car at its Fenton, Mo., assembly plant, beginning next year.

Chrysler said production of the G-24 and other 1984-model cars will begin at the plant in July. Most of the new jobs are expected to be filled by the recall of Chrysler employees who have been laid off.
