Iran says Iraqi missiles hit civilian targets in a city

Iraqi long-range missiles blasted heavily populated civilian targets in the southern Iranian city of Dezful Sunday, killing at least 62 people and wounding about 300, Radio Tehran said Monday.

An Iranian official said two missiles hit the center of the city in the evening while people were praying in mosques or shopping. The attacks sparked a strong reaction from Iran's clerical leaders. Prime Minister Hossein Mousavi said conservative Persian Gulf countries that have helped Iraq in its war against Iran would have to bear the consequences.
