Congressional funding bill may face veto by Reagan

The House approved a catchall funding bill Monday to keep the government running.

The House approved the bill on a 232-54 vote and sent it to the Senate for final congressional approval expected later in the day. The White House said President Reagan had not decided whether to sign it. A Senate-House negotiating committee approved the measure Sunday night without MX production funds but left in $2.5 billion for further research and development of the missile system.

The committee also excluded $5.4 billion in jobs funds the House included and a $1.2 billion Senate jobs bill, which could have caused Mr. Reagan to veto the bill.
