Lewis accused of sending death threat to President

US authorities said that Tylenol extortion suspect James Lewis threatened President Reagan's life at the time of the the poisoning incidents that took seven lives in Chicago.

US Attorney Daniel Webb said Mr. Lewis, using an alias, wrote Mr. Reagan a ''death threat'' letter, which was processed through the same postage meter as a letter demanding $1 million from the makers of Tylenol. The letter to the President alluded to the Tylenol incident. Mr. Lewis's wife, LeAnn, surrendered to police in Chicago Tuesday.
