Fugitive arrested in Tylenol case

James W. Lewis, wanted for questioning in seven cyanide-laced Tylenol deaths in the Chicago area, was arrested at the New York Public Library. He was arraigned in the Manhattan US District Court on a fugitive warrant and ordered held on $5 million cash bail for a hearing Dec. 23.

The FBI said there was no evidence to link Mr. Lewis to the killings, but Tyrone Fahner, the Illinois attorney general, described him as a suspect ''high on our lists.'' The FBI appealed to Mr. Lewis's wife, Leann, to surrender. She is wanted on a fugitive warrant for felonious use of a social security card.
