Entire Cabinet resigns in Peruvian shake-up

December 14, 1982

Peruvian Prime Minister Manuel Ulloa and his entire Cabinet resigned in the first major government shake-up since democracy replaced 12 years of military rule 21/2 years ago.

President Fernando Belaunde Terry announced that he had accepted the resignation of Mr. Ulloa, a former Wall Street financier who advocated a return to the free-market system, but failed to curb inflation.
