Tentative OK is reached on Chrysler Canada pact

December 10, 1982

Chrysler Canada and the United Automobile Workers reached tentative agreement on a wage package that could end a strike by 9,600 Canadian workers at six plants next week, Canadian UAW director Bob White said.

Mr. White said details of the agreement will be released during the weekend after a ratification vote by workers. Negotiations were proceeding on nonmonetary contract issues, but if the wage terms were accepted the five-week strike could end Monday, Mr. White said.
