While the nationalizing of industries proceeds in places such as France, the trend is not all in one direction. Bangladesh, so long in economic and political straits, is starting to reverse the process. It is beginning to return jute and textile mills to their private owners in a turn toward a freer economy. Could the leaders there have noticed something France is missing?
