Who's leading the Christmas buying parade? It's the ''upscale'' people, says a Boston retailer: the ''affluent singles'' and couples from 25 to 45 years of age with ''dual incomes.'' They're buying video machines, fancy food processors, and the like. We hope their flourishing personal economies provide work for the downscale people who can use a little cheer, too.
