The National Commission on Social Security Reform will meet beginning Nov. 11 at the Ramada Inn in Alexandria, Va. They were offered a good rate on rooms by the Homestead, a posh resort in Hot Springs, Va. But at least one commission member pointed out that the group would be considering changes in the troubled social security system.

It would be impolitic, the commissioner said, to debate those changes while lodged in luxury.
