Reagan begins a month of political campaigning

Columbus was President Reagan's first stop in a month-long tour of campaigning for support of Republican candidates in the Nov. 2 elections. Ohio is one of several Midwestern industrial states where high unemployment is a major campaign issue.

In a speech here Monday, he accused Democrats of launching hysterical attacks against his economic program in an attempt to disguise the ''economic mess'' he inherited when he took office.
