Kissinger: Mideast peace is still ripe for pursuing

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said that despite the ''tragic, inexcusable'' killings in west Beirut, the opportunity for making progress to a Middle East peace has never been greater.

Speaking to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Mr. Kissinger said he believed all nations must now feel that the continuation of the cycle of violence in Lebanon could not serve anyone's interests.
