Suspects arrested in Paris reported as IRA members

August 31, 1982

Two urban guerrilla suspects arrested in Paris last weekend are members of the outlawed Irish Republican Army (IRA) and are also believed to have links with a Palestinian network, French television said, quoting official sources.

The state-owned TF-1 channel said the pair, whose identities have been kept a close secret by police, were suspected of preparing terrorist operations in Paris as well as against British interests in the Netherlands.
