Seychelles reports mutiny among soldiers put down

August 19, 1982

Seychelles troops crushed an Army mutiny and recaptured the national radio station where the rebels said they were holding more than 200 hostages, the official Seychelles News Agency reported.

The agency quoted a Defense Ministry spokesman as saying that some of the rebels had escaped with hostages and appealed to people to report the location of any mutineers.
