Leftists take responsibility for bombings in Honduras

August 6, 1982

A leftist guerrilla group claimed responsibility for Wednesday night's bombing attacks here which injured five people and damaged two airline offices and an insurance building, police said.

The relatively new group, called the Lorenzo Zelaya Popular Revolutionary Forces, announced its existence early this year with a wave of bombing attacks against some embassies to protest the presence in Honduras of rightist Nicaraguan exiles opposed to the Managua government.
