African summit meeting to go on, Qaddafi insists

Libya intends to hold an African summit meeting this week despite a split in the Organization of African Unity over the Western Sahara, government spokesman Ali Triki asserted.Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi is adamant the meeting will go ahead even without the required two-thirds quorum, conference sources said.

Tuesday, Colonel Qaddafi publicly accused the United States of conspiring to sabotage the summit. In an unprepared speech at a dinner here for Mozambique President Samora Machel, the colonal said he had documented evidence the United States has corrupted African leaders so as to prevent them from attending the four-day meeting.
