California prunes off to Russia

Buried in last month's international trade figure information was news that the Soviet Union had purchased 6.6 million pounds of California prunes - for $3 million cash. According to Sun-Diamond Growers of California, these are the largest shipments of prunes made from the state directly to the Soviets.
