Take comfort

July 19, 1982

See blossoms of the sun before you. Stand where seagulls rise and follow them in flight. Sift through your fingers centuries of sand. Absorb the year's most healing gift of light. Once more become aware of miracles that wait within the earth. Above your head observe how leaves respond when silent bells of season ring to call them home to bed. Let time not be the tyrant of your days; hold memory apart from sorrow. Give into your fluent hours the simple praise of letting them go freely as you live. With supple balance meet the changing high and low of tides. Take comfort from the sky.
