Poles say they're slowly relaxing on martial law

Several items of interest were reported from Poland Thursday.
Gen. Czeslaw Kiszczak, interior minister, spoke of Poland's security situation with optimism and said martial law restrictions were being systematically relaxed.
The Communist Party Central Committee met to find ways to reconcile Poland's disaffected youth. The leaders urged young people to forget ideas of replacing the socialist system and to work for a strong state. Gen. Wojciech Jaruzelski told the committee it is a great social tragedy that ''youthful romanticism and readiness for sacrifice were exploited for a political gamble.''
About 750 Polish refugees are expected to receive visas to settle in the United States in the next few months, the 31-nation Intergovernmental Committee for Migration said.
