European Parliament calls for ban on plastic bullets

The European Parliament called for a ban on the use of plastic bullets by security forces in European Common Market countries.

It said their widespread use by British forces in Northern Ireland had led to the death of 12 people, including seven children, and called the bullets a murderous weapon.
