West Beirut shops closed in furor after kidnapping

Shops closed and schools suspended classes in several neighborhoods in predominantly Muslim West Beirut as gunmen roamed the streets shooting in the air and calling for a general strike, security sources said. A local organization demanded the strike after the kidnapping of three members by unidentified abductors Sunday.
