S. Korean interior chief quits over violent rampage

South Korean Interior Minister Suh Chung Hwa resigned, taking responsibility for the police forces' failure to stop a drunken policeman from killing 55 villagers in an eight-hour shooting rampage with rifles and grenades, the government announced. Mr. Suh will be replaced by the minister of sport, Ro Tae Woo, a close associate of President Chun Doo Hwan.
