April 26, 1982

Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D) of New York announced he will seek re-election to a second term, focusing his campaign on ''the economic crisis,'' crime, and the threat of a ''nuclear holocaust.'' He has yet to be opposed by anyone in the Republican Party. Mr. Moynihan is a former US ambassador to the United Nations, a White House adviser to Richard Nixon and long-time Harvard professor. He is serving as vice-chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
