Partner of Playboy wins an Atlantic City casino

April 15, 1982

The New Jersey Casino Control Commision issued a license to the $150 million Atlantic City Playboy Hotel Casino, after Playboy Enterprises relinquished direct control of the hotel and placed it under the direction of its partner, Elsinore Corporation. The casino commission ruled last week that Playboy Enterprises and its chairman, Hugh Hefner, were unqualified to own casino licenses because of his payment of bribes to New York officials in the early 1960s.
